Playoffs Recap - The Riveters and Skyline both got on the board early in their playoff game and the Riveters led 4-2 after 1. Pitchers Amy and Sofi (Riveters) and Marsha (Skyline), with the help of their defense, pretty much silenced the bats after that, as the final score was 6-2 in a well played, brisk game. All the games the Turtle Rocks and Comets have played this year have been exciting, back-and-forth battles and this playoff match-up featured more of the same. The Turtle Rocks jumped out to a quick five run lead in the first and the Comets came back a couple innings later. The lead changed a few more times, but the Comets took it for good in the top of the seventh.

Sep 7 Recap - The Skyline broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the 7th on Yolanda's game winning hit to defeat the Comets. The Riveters took the next two games, defeating both the Comets and the Turtle Rocks, clinching the number one seed for the playoffs.

August 23 Recap - The last games of August saw the Turtle Rocks top the Skyline 11-7 and the Riveters beat the Comets 11-8.

August 17 Recap - The CWBL took their league on the road, playing a double-header at historic Simmons Field, home of the AAGPBL Kenosha Comets, this past Sunday. In the opener, the Riveters notched their first victory in two seasons over the Turtle Rocks by a score of 9-5. In the afternoon game, the Comets picked up their fifth win of the season, defeating the Skyline.

Back on the Field - July 20: After a three-hour delay while we waiting for the fields to dry, the CWBL finally got back on the field and played two games under sunny skies this past Sunday. The Turtle Rocks defeated the Riveters in a game featuring two fine pitching performances by both starters. The bats were smoking for both the Comets and Skyline in game two, but the Comets were hotter, running their record to a perfect 3-0 on this rainy season.

Can-Am Results - The Gems took two teams to the Can-Am Spirit of Sportsmanship Tournament, held in South Bend June 27-29. Gems I went 3-1 in pool play, including a thrilling come-from-behind victory against the Aussie Hearts on Saturday morning, scoring four runs in the bottom of the seventh. Gems I finished the tournament in 2nd place, as they dropped the championship 2-0 to the Hearts. Gems II went 0-4, but bounced back from a rough first day to play two close, competitive games on Saturday. Comets, Riveters Win - June 22: We finally got a break with the weather, and got two in under sunny skies. The Turtle Rocks and Comets again played an exciting game. The Turtle Rocks took the early lead and kept adding to it, but the Comets stayed close, then exploded for four runs in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings. After a scoreless eighth, shootout rules came into effect for the remainder of the game, adding even more tension, especially since the heart of each team's lineup was due up. After holding the Turtle Rocks scoreless, the Comets plated the winning run in the bottom of the ninth, for a final of 9-8. In the second game, the Skyline jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, thanks to a sharp triple by Maria. The Riveters came back, led by Sofi and Jen, whose deep doubles and triple took the Skyline centerfielder to new territory in the outfield. Final 14-4,
